Crisis Services

GRAND Mental Health offers mental health emergency intervention services. We’re here for you with 24/7 Mobile Crisis teams, three 24/7 Crisis Stabilization Centers and a 24/7 Crisis Line at 1-800-722-3611. If you or someone you know is experiencing a mental health crisis, please call now.

Urgent Recovery Centers (URC) Vinita, Stillwater and Pryor

If you are having thoughts of harming yourself or others, our Urgent Recovery Centers (URCs) are here to help. Our mental health professionals, RNs, Recovery Support Specialists and an on-call physician are trained to help you through a crisis. You will be allowed to stay 24/7 until you feel you are no longer in crisis. The URCs are currently admitting adults only.

When you arrive:

  • We’ll ask a few questions to gain a better understanding of how we can help.
  • A nurse will determine if you are physically able to stay or if you need emergency medical care.
  • A staff member will be assigned to you who is there to listen, support you and never judge you.
  • If we can’t meet your needs at our center, we’ll help you get to the right place.
  • Our goal is for you to be well physically, emotionally and mentally. We’re here to help you meet that goal.

Admission is voluntary. You must be:

  • 18 or older
  • Experiencing a traumatic event, drug/alcohol emergency or mental health crisis

Once admitted, you will be allowed to leave at any time unless you are determined to be a danger to yourself or others, in which case you will be asked to stay until it is safe for you to leave.

Mobile crisis services for children

For parents or guardians who need immediate assistance with a child in crisis, we have clinicians available via the Crisis Line to assist during an emotional or behavioral health crisis.

What you can expect:

Individual, Family, & Group Therapy

GRAND Mental Health provides counseling, rehabilitation and mental health assessments for children and adults, including care for members of the armed forces and veterans. We diagnose and treat a vast array of emotional, social and behavioral issues. You will receive confidential care from a team of professionals to empower you to lead your own recovery.

Individual Therapy

Also referred to as counseling, individual therapy is a process through which:

  • Behaviors and feelings can be discussed and understood
  • Areas of hurt and trauma are healed and overcome
  • An experienced professional can guide life change in a safe environment

Our therapists work with both children and adults, ages 3 and up. For minors, legal guardians should plan to be present for the first few appointments.

Family Therapy

Family therapy is a great option when one or more members are receiving individual therapy and would benefit from the support and involvement of the people closest to them. Our family therapy focuses on working with families to:

  • Find respectful & healthy ways to communicate
  • Create deeper and stronger relationships
  • Work through the change and growth they’re needing

Families come in many forms, and the idea of “normal” is often only seen in movies. No matter your family background, we all go through struggles. These could include:

  • Substance use or addiction
  • Separation or divorce
  • A family member with a mental health condition

Group Therapy

Group therapy offers a supportive environment where people can interact with others who may be working on similar concerns. We provide separate groups for children and adults. A licensed therapist will organize a small group that’s encouraged to share their experiences, work through struggles and support each other as the members grow in their own wellness journeys.

Group therapy offers unique benefits including:

  • Feedback from others to see things from a different perspective
  • Support from people who are dealing with some of the same challenges
  • Role models offering new coping methods and hope for real life change

Virtual Services

We distribute iPads with our secure MyCareTM video app for counseling sessions and crisis intervention, which is available to all ages. Now you can get the help you need anytime, anywhere.

GRAND Mental Health’s innovative technology provides mental health care to people in all circumstances. You may qualify for one-on-one video sessions with our staff through a provided iPad. A parent or guardian must initiate all video calls before their child may begin a one-on-one appointment.

Advantages of virtual services:

  • Accessible to rural areas
  • If you lack reliable transportation
  • Convenient if unable to take time off work
  • Less stressful for those anxious about in-person visits

Children & Adolescents

Our children’s clinicians help youth improve and maintain success in their homes, schools and communities. These services coordinate with daycares, schools, and programs such as Parent-Child Interaction Therapy, Strengthening Families, Behavioral Intervention Services in Schools and Wraparound. Wraparound addresses emotional and behavioral issues in at-risk youth. Every year we host a Summer Kick-Off, as well as a fun, four-day summer camp called Camp Eagle Rock for the children we serve.

Supporting healthy growth

As parents, you are vital to the health and well-being of your children. To assist you in this process, we offer:

  • Infant Care Counseling to help you give your baby stable routines for healthy growth and development (starting at the prenatal stage).
  • Coordination with Headstart, preschools and daycares to ensure your little ones continue to develop emotionally, mentally and socially while they’re away from home.
  • Ongoing counseling and therapy inside schools and in connection with teachers and administrators. We’ll address any needs or struggles that may be hindering your child’s educational success.

Family Programs

Our Strengthening Families course is a great tool for families who want to grow closer together and interact with each other in fun and healthy ways. Several families meet for 14 sessions with certified clinicians who work with children and parents separately. Then, they bring everyone together to strengthen relationships and address everyone’s needs.

GRAND Mental Health’s Wraparound program assists children and families by “wrapping” them with needed supports and services and discovering ways for the family to help themselves. In this model, families choose “family teams” made up of both formal supports (school personnel, DHS, OJA, etc.) and informal supports (friends, extended family, neighbors, church members, etc.) within the community. These “teams” help families learn how to resolve crisis situations and improve overall functionality.

Wraparound families work closely with a Care Coordinator (a clinical professional in mental health) and a Family Support Provider (an experienced parent that has raised a child with behavioral or emotional challenges). Together, you and your team will identify obstacles and strategize for solutions.

We also offer programs for families with one or more members struggling with substance use or addiction. Please click on the links to learn more about Celebrating Families and A-CRA (Adolescent Community Reinforcement Approach).

Medication Management

Our board-certified and licensed physicians, registered nurses and nutritionists work with your treatment team to enhance your overall wellness. Medications are prescribed and monitored in alignment with your personalized treatment plan. This Integrated health care approach ensures the needs of the whole person are addressed.

Prescription Medication

For some, prescription medication, as part of an overall treatment plan, can help with mental and emotional challenges and/or behavioral issues.

A board-certified psychiatrist will supervise your medical care and help you find the best treatment options for your needs. We offer in-office and virtual appointments based on location. You may be prescribed medications that will continue to be monitored and adjusted to make sure they are right for you.

If medication is recommended as an effective and safe option, our staff may order labs and/or collaborate with your primary care provider. Prescription medication is available to both children and adults.

Case Management

A Case Manager will work with you to develop skills and learn how to gain access to community resources and needed services including medical, behavioral health, housing, employment, social, educational and other essential human services.

Your Case Manager will assist you in finding services for needs such as:

  • Physical & medical health
  • Housing, food & transportation
  • Government financial aid
  • Education, career training & employment
  • Social & recreational interaction

GRAND Mental Health’s Community Integration/Rehabilitation Services focus on improving personal, social and vocational skills, along with maintaining healthy nutrition and hygiene. Provided in an individual or group setting, you will have an active role in your recovery plan. These services are offered in addition to therapy and are available to children and adults.

Peer Support

Every treatment team includes someone who has been in your shoes. Our Certified Peer Recovery Support Specialists are in active recovery from a substance use disorder, mental health issue, or trauma. Our Family Support Providers have firsthand experience raising a child with severe mental health or substance use disorder needs. They will be a listening ear, provide practical support and advice, and assist you with navigating resources.

Substance Use & Addiction

We provide substance use and addiction services for youth and adults including crisis intervention, Medication-Assisted Treatment for opioid dependency, gambling addiction treatment and a 12-week Intensive Outpatient Program.

A-CRA: For Teens & Young Adults

The Adolescent Community Reinforcement Approach (A-CRA) is for teens and young adults ages 13-25 who are struggling with substance use. A-CRA helps young people become free from substance dependence, improve relationships and work toward education and career goals. This service is available in Ottawa, Craig and Mayes counties.

Celebrating Families: For Parents

This 16-week curriculum has had proven success and was created for families where one or both parents are dealing with substance use of any kind or are in recovery from substance use. Celebrating Families brings the entire family together to fight for recovery, break the cycle of addiction and create a safe and healthy home environment.

MAT: For Opioid Addiction

GRAND Mental Health’s MAT (Medication Assisted Treatment) program is dedicated to helping adults who struggle with opioid dependency through the use of therapy and medication. This medication works specifically to help alleviate withdrawals and decrease cravings. We understand that opiates can be highly addictive and difficult to overcome on your own. Our program is designed to give you the help and support you need to become healthy and regain control.

IOP: 12-Week Program

The IOP (Intensive Outpatient Program) is structured to provide up to 12 weeks of thorough SUD (Substance Use Disorder) treatment services for adults needing a higher level of care. Group and individual therapy combined with rehab services will utilize the Matrix Model, Living in Balance and Community Reinforcement Approach curriculums. Regular UA testing will be administered for increased accountability, and participants will receive certificates of completion for various stages of the program.

Oklahoma Families First Project (OFFP): Pregnancy & Substance Abuse

We offer a well-rounded approach to treatment, addressing the many areas in which the woman may be struggling mentally, behaviorally and relationally. Substance use disorder affects the whole family, and our evidence-based practices are designed to meet the needs of the woman, her infant, and family seamlessly during pregnancy and after giving birth. If you have identified a pregnant or postpartum woman suffering from opioid addiction, our medical professionals offer postpartum medication-assisted treatment. This treatment gradually reduces opioid dependency in a responsible, safe way, reducing physical harm to the woman and her baby.

Veterans

We are proud to serve those who have served our country. We help with many challenges veterans face.

Your Case Manager will assist you in finding services for needs such as:

  • Post Traumatic Stress Disorder
  • Anxiety
  • Suicidal thoughts

We accept VA referrals and Patient Centered Community Care insurance.

Additional Programs

We have a variety of additional specialized programs that help you, or you and your family, with specific situations or challenges.

Assisted Outpatient Program (AOT)

The AOT program is for individuals who have had at least two hospitalizations or two interactions with law enforcement due to struggles with mental health or substance use. If you know someone who could benefit from the AOT program, please make a referral.

Housing

Employment & Educational Placement

For those interested in working or continuing their education, we have the Individualized Placement & Support program. Employment Specialists are here to advocate for you, help you with the application process, and provide support during your placement.

For those who have been recently involved with the criminal justice system and want to work in Rogers County, the NextGen program may be a good fit for you. Researchers are running a study at GRAND Mental Health to understand which services work best for helping people who are coming out of the justice system and looking for work. Everyone who participates will receive employment services, but different people will receive different types of services. Other services may be available to you, such as mental health treatment or housing assistance. To qualify you must be 18 years old, eligible for services at GRAND Mental Health, allowed to work according to probation or parole, interested in working in the Claremore area, able to enroll within one year of leaving jail or prison or ordered to serve an alternative sentence.

Diversionary Court Programs

We serve various programs for individuals involved in the court system such as Mental Health Court, Drug Court, Community Sentencing, Pretrial Release Program, Early Diversion Program, and Federal Probation & Parole.

We also offer a free screening program for felony-level offenders to determine the mental health, substance use and risk factors that can directly impact a defendant’s criminal case. We can help you identify alternatives to incarceration or treatment services that may be an option at the time of sentencing. This can also help determine if any of the above programs would benefit a given individual.

Stillwater Schools Employee Assistance Program

For Stillwater Public Schools employees who are facing challenges that are making it difficult to work, confidential help is available at no cost to them or their employer. Our treatment teams offer assessment, counseling, referrals or follow-up services as necessary.

Law Enforcement Engagement

GRAND Mental Health is proud to partner with local law enforcement agencies to provide support to the communities we serve. We equip each patrol car with an iPad that is ready for an officer, or an individual an officer may encounter, to contact a licensed professional right away via video call. This helps officers in deescalating serious situations and provides those in serious distress or crisis with immediate support.

Our 24/7 crisis team is also available for law enforcement officers who would like to benefit themselves from advice, support, or professional counseling from mental health experts via these iPads.
